Join Canberra Museum and Gallery for an illustrated talk with Sophie Heath, Director of the Nolan Trust, as part of our celebration of Public Impressions: Sidney Nolan in Popular Media and the 50th anniversary of Sidney Nolan's 1974 donation to the nation.

Sidney and Mary Nolan’s final home was a 400-year old farm and estate in North Herefordshire on the border of England with Wales. In 1985 they founded the Sidney Nolan Trust at The Rodd as a place where people could experience contemporary art, in all its forms, in the context of landscape.

Director Sophie Heath will give an overview of the Trust, its history, collections and programmes, and current work towards realising the Nolans’ vision for this extraordinary place across art, history, and landscape.

Sophie Heath is a dual British Australian, born in Scotland to Australian parents, she went to high school and college in Canberra. She is an ANU graduate with a combined arts/science degree, BA hons Art History/ BSc Chemistry, and gained her MA in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art/V&A in London.
