A droll comedy with Hugh Grant as a young English vicar who travels with his wife to Australia in the 1930s. He finds himself caught up in the bohemian world of the famous, controversial artist Norman Lindsay, played by Sam Neill. He is particularly confronted and fascinated by Lindsay’s avant garde art and the uninhibited behaviour of the three beautiful models Lindsay is in the process of painting. His prim and proper wife also finds herself being challenged and influenced by the free-thinking atmosphere and the models. The movie was filmed around Lindsay’s Gallery and Museum in the Blue Mountains.
