Curator, Visual Arts
Sita McAlpine has worked as a Curator at Canberra Museum and Gallery since 2019. She previously worked at the National Museum of Australia as a Curator on the major exhibition Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters, which was awarded the AMaGA MAGNA National Winner for major exhibition of the year (2018). Prior to this she worked at Museum Victoria assisting with collection documentation and research, as well as undertaking artist consultations in east Arnhem Land. This experience led to her consulting on community arts and history projects in Art Centres in the Northern Territory.
Sita holds a Masters of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne (2015), and a Bachelor of Arts (2007) with an Honours degree in Anthropology (Material Culture/Art) (2012) from the University of Queensland.
