The Nomchong family of nearby Braidwood were a philanthropic, entrepreneurial Chinese-Australian family. They had a diverse range of businesses throughout Braidwood and were active in the tight-knit rural community. This display brings together objects and images from our own collection at Canberra Museum and Gallery and those held by the Braidwood and District Historical Society.
Head to the museum to learn more about this fascinating family who migrated from China during the Gold Rush in the 1860s and forged a new life for themselves in Braidwood from the 1880s, becoming one of the most respected families within the district for over 100 years.
