The University of Canberra (UC), in collaboration with Canberra Museum and Gallery, and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM) is celebrating the 2018 Heritage Festival with an afternoon focusing on conservation.
Join us for a series of speakers including conservator Ian Batterham, a paper conservation expert; Alison Wain, a large-technology heritage conservator – currently working on the Molonglo Valley Telescope; Pip McNaught, Research Centre Associate, National Museum of Australia, who will discuss how to write your object’s story; and Quentin Webster, Coordinator Cultural Heritage Preservation Foundation, introducing moveable cultural heritage, significance and strategies to preserve it in the private sector.
Book in for a half-hour clinic to gain practical tips and tricks from local Canberra conservation experts. Bring your favourite portable objects and heirlooms to CMAG and get some expert advice from UC and AICCM conservators.
