FLORIADE FAMILY ACTIVITIES: What’s flourishing at CMAG?

Pop into CMAG to see Stephanie Burns’ bronze flowers Lola black and Lola pink, commissioned for Floriade in 2000.

Enjoy self directed activities for four to twelve year olds and their families inspired by our exhibitions:

Look at the playful installations of cascading shredded paper created by artist Hilary Hanrahan. Make a mini-installation of your own that is bursting with colour by arranging shredded paper into beautiful designs inside a box frame.

Stephanie Burns – Paper flowers activity

The artist Stephanie Burns creates giant flowers cast in bronze. You can make your own giant paper flower to keep or leave at CMAG to be installed in the Children’s Reading Corner. Don’t forget to take a selfie against the Flower Fiesta wall backdrop and share it with us on instagram #floriadecmag and tag @canberramuseumandgallery @cmag_families

Dr Who – Sculpture activity

Make a sculpture based on one of the characters that you discover upon entering the world of Dr Who in the Open Collections Gallery. Will you assemble a shiny robot or will you construct a crazy creature from outer space?
