Exhibition curator Meredith Hinchliffe will spin a yarn about the history of the Canberra Spinners and Weavers organisation. The textile works in Crossing threads range from wraps to rugs, and tell stories about the remarkable skills and dedication of their makers. The works also reflect the extraordinary variety of techniques employed by the spinners and weavers over half a century, and the threads of inspiration that were drawn between members.
