Cnr London Circuit and City Square, Canberra City
Open today from 10am to 4pm
Join artist Kirstie Rea and Aimee Frodsham, Program Manager, Parliament House Art Collection, in conversation about Rea’s work and the ideas that have inspired her. The discussion will roam widely over Rea’s response to the Australian landscape, to colour and the subtle interplay of language and image that lies behind many of her works.
Aimee Frodsham returned to Canberra two and a half years ago, after living in London for 12 years. Over that period she worked at Tate, as the Planning Manager within the Collection Care team, delivering programs across all four of Tate's prestigious galleries. Her love of glass making, and young family, brought her back to Canberra, where she grew up. She studied glass under Stephen Proctor, Jane Bruce and Kirstie Rea at ANU Glass Department, graduating in 1999. She has assisted artists such as Scott Chasling, Kirstie Rea, Jane Bruce, Tom Rowney and Klaus Moje and has attended Pilchuck Glass School as a student, a Technical Assistant and the Artist Assistant. Aimee currently works as Program Manager in the Art Collection & Exhibitions team at Parliament House, she also is a freelance curator, designer and glass maker who works within the Canberra glass community.
